Yuvoke Zen Foundation

Yuvoke Zen Foundation is way up in the hills, specifically in a village called Jarol. It is part of Kumarsain in the Shimla district. We are based out of house number 1531, which is the home of Sanjeev Kumar Makhaik. If you have ever been to this part of Himachal Pradesh, you know the roads can be a bit winding and steep. The 172030 area is very beautiful but also very quiet. Most of the time, the only sounds you hear are the wind through the trees or maybe some local traffic far off. Our office isn't really an office in the traditional sense. It is more like a room in Sanjeev's house where we keep all our stuff. We don't have fancy lights or modern furniture. It is mostly just wood and stone like the other houses in the village. When the winter hits, it gets really cold and we often have to sit around a heater while we get our work done. People from the village know where we are, so they just stop by when they have something to discuss. It’s a very informal way of doing things. We don't have a website that we update or any big social media presence. We just stay here in Jarol and handle things as they come. It’s a bit isolated, but that’s the way life is in Kumarsain. We are just local people trying to manage a small foundation from a village home.
