Wild Lotus Travels

We are located on the top floor in the Chakar area, right on the Main Street in Summer Hill. Being in Shimla, the weather is usually a bit cold, so the first thing we do is put on the kettle. Wild Lotus Travels is a small office, and since we are on the top floor, we have plenty of stairs to climb every morning. It’s good for the legs, I suppose. The office is right in the Goal Market vicinity, so there is always some noise from the street below. We spend most of our time on the phones or typing away at the computers. There are maps and brochures scattered around, and the walls are covered with old calendars. It’s not the most polished office you’ll ever see, but it’s where we do our work. People come in from the street asking about bus timings or how to get to the different hills. We just tell them what we know from living here all our lives. Summer Hill is much quieter than the center of Shimla, which we prefer. Sometimes the internet goes out when there’s a storm, and we just have to wait for it to come back. We don’t have a big team, just a few of us making sure people get their travel plans sorted. It’s a simple way to make a living in the mountains. We just keep the doors open, watch the clouds move over the valley, and see who comes in.
