If you go down to Lakkar Bazar near the IGMC, you’ll find us there at Thakur Medicine. It’s a part of Shimla that’s always full of people, mostly because of the hospital. The wooden shops nearby give the whole area a specific smell of cedar and pine. Our shop is quite traditional. We have wooden counters and glass cases that have been there for decades. It’s not the kind of place with bright neon lights or computerized displays everywhere. We prefer the old way of doing things, where we talk to everyone who comes in. The mornings are usually the busiest when the hospital shifts change. We spend a lot of time searching through the drawers for specific items. It’s a bit of a maze inside, but we know where everything is. The winters in Lakkar Bazar are pretty harsh, so we keep a kettle going for tea all day long. We aren't a big chain, just a local business that’s part of the neighborhood. Sometimes the monkeys outside cause a bit of trouble, but that’s just Shimla for you. We just keep the doors open and do our best to help out whoever walks in. It’s a simple life, and we are happy to be a part of the daily routine around the IGMC. We have an old clock on the wall that ticks a bit too loud.
