Soni & Rustogi, Chartered Accountants

Our setup is located on the top floor of the Devi Saran Building, which is House No 82 on Ganj Road in Shimla. We go by Soni & Rustogi, Chartered Accountants. Being on the top floor means we get a bit of a climb every day, but it also gives us a slightly quieter place to handle the accounting work. Ganj Road is a major hub, so there is always something happening outside. We mostly deal with the regular stuff like tax returns, auditing books, and making sure the financial records for our clients are in order. It’s a lot of sitting at desks and looking at spreadsheets, but that is the nature of being a CA. We have all the usual files and folders stacked up, especially when it’s time to close the yearly accounts. We don't use any fancy language to describe what we do. It’s just about getting the math right and following the rules laid down by the tax office. People from around Shimla come up to see us when they have a mess of receipts or need a professional signature on their documents. We try to stay organized, though during the busy months, the desks can get a bit cluttered with folders. We just keep plugging away at the entries until everything balances. It is honest work and we have been doing it this way for quite some time.
