Shimla Ice Cream

Shimla Ice Cream is right on the Main Road in Shastri Nagar, specifically at number 80. If you live around here, you probably walk past us every day. It’s a pretty busy street with a lot of foot traffic, especially in the evenings when families are out. We aren't a big factory or anything, just a local spot where we keep the freezers stocked. The front door sticks a little bit when it’s raining, but we haven't gotten around to fixing it yet. I spend a lot of my time behind the counter, talking to the regulars who live in the apartments nearby. Kids come in after school and they usually have to count out their coins, which takes a minute. We don't have a big marketing team or social media stuff. We just put the flavors on the board and that’s it. Sometimes we run out of the popular stuff by Friday night and then I have to explain it to disappointed customers. It’s a small space, so it gets crowded quickly. My father used to help out here, but now it’s mostly just me and a couple of helpers. We keep the place bright because the streetlights on Main Road can be a bit dim at night. It's a simple life, just scooping and cleaning up spills. We also have to watch the power usage since the old wiring can be a bit finicky during the summer months.
