Sadho Kudrat Foundation

We are based at house number 1141 in Village Dalaiyan, near Tiyali in Shimla. It’s the home of Ram Saran’s family. We started this foundation because we have a deep love for nature. In our language, kudrat means the natural world, and that’s what we focus on. Shimla is a beautiful place, but we see it changing every year. We wanted to do something to protect the trees and the mountains we grew up with. We aren't a big city foundation. We are just village people who spend most of our time outdoors. We don't have a polished office or a marketing department. Our work is simple and direct. We talk to the local farmers and we work with the kids in the village. We want everyone to understand how important our land is. Sometimes the weather is rough, especially when it snows and the roads get blocked, but we stay busy with what we can do from home. We don't have a mission statement or a corporate logo. We just have our hands and a desire to keep our environment healthy. People in the Tiyali area know us well. We aren't trying to be anything special. We are just regular people who care about the earth. It’s not a job for us, it’s just how we live our lives every day. We take it slow and focus on doing things the right way for the long term and the future.
