Ratesh & Co

Living and working in Sanjauli means you get used to the hills. Our office is near Ekant Niwas, just off the main road in Shimla-6. The air is always a bit thinner up here. Ratesh & Co has been around for a bit now. We spend a lot of time on the phone because getting materials up these narrow roads is a real chore. Vydene is a quiet enough area most mornings. Then the traffic starts and everything slows down. We have a small space where we keep our records. It’s nothing special, just a few desks and some old files. Sometimes the mist comes in so thick you can’t see the house across the way. We drink a lot of tea to stay warm. The locals know us by name and they just drop in when they are passing by. We don't have a big sign or anything. It’s just the name on the door. Working in Shimla is different from the plains. You have to plan around the weather and the terrain. If the road is blocked by a slide or snow, everything stops. We just take it as it comes. It’s a slow pace of life but we like it that way. We aren't trying to be the biggest company out there. We just want to do our bit and go home to our families at night. It is honest work and we stay busy enough.
