Rakesh Kumar Kaushal

I’m Rakesh Kumar Kaushal and I work out of a space near the Aroma Hotel in Shimla. Being right by the High Court makes it a busy spot with lots of lawyers and people running around for legal things. Shimla is always cold in the winters, so the office is usually where I spend most of my time drinking tea and looking at files. It’s not a huge office, but it’s close to everything important in this part of town. I handle various bits of paperwork and legal consulting for folks who need help navigating the court systems. Most people who come in are local residents or business owners from around 171001. The walk up to the office can be a bit steep, but that’s just Shimla for you. I’ve been here long enough that I don’t mind the hills anymore. It’s a straightforward setup with a desk and some chairs for clients. No one here wears fancy suits unless they have to go into the court. Most of the time it’s just quiet work, reading through documents and making sure everything is filed where it belongs. I’ve seen the city change a lot over the years, but the work stays pretty much the same. People need help with their legal matters, and I’m right here by the hotel to help them out. Sometimes the monkeys outside the window make more noise than the people inside, which is just part of living here.
