Jindal Stainless

Up here in Shimla, at 35/1 Lower Bazar, things are a bit different than the big city offices. It’s a steep walk to get to us sometimes, and the air is always a bit colder, which is nice when you’re moving heavy stainless steel around. The shop is right in the middle of the bazar, so it’s always lively with people walking past and the smell of local food from the stalls nearby. We don't have much room to spread out, so we have to be very organized with how we stack the metal. Every piece has its place, otherwise we’d never find anything. It’s a family-style environment here. We drink a lot of tea to stay warm and spend most of our time chatting with people who stop by the counter. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we’re too busy with orders to worry about that. When it snows, things get a bit tricky with deliveries, but we’ve lived here long enough to figure it out. We aren't trying to impress anyone with big words or a shiny storefront. We just offer what we have and try to be helpful to the folks who live and work in the mountains. It’s a good, honest way to spend the day. Sometimes the monkeys on the roof make a lot of noise, but that is just Shimla life.
