Chutani Clinic

Shimla is a different kind of place to work. Being at 10/1 Middle Bazar means dealing with the hills every single day. You get used to the walking after a while, but it still takes the wind out of you sometimes when you’re in a rush. The clinic is right in the thick of things. Middle Bazar is always full of people, especially during the tourist season when the crowds come up. But for us, it is just where we go to work and see our neighbors. The building is older, like most things in this part of Shimla. The air gets really crisp in the winters, and we have to keep the heaters going all day to stay warm. Sometimes the power flickers when the weather gets bad or the snow starts falling, but we just wait it out. Inside, it is pretty simple. We have a few rooms for seeing people and a small area for waiting. The floors are wood and they creak a bit when you walk across them. It has got a bit of character, I guess. We see a lot of locals who have lived on these hills their whole lives. They usually have a story to tell while they are waiting their turn. We don't have fancy decorations on the walls, just some old posters and maybe a calendar from last year. It is a practical place. Chutani Clinic is just a small part of the daily life up here in the mountains.
