Act Himachal Fruits

Act Himachal Fruits is located at Pankaj Cottage, which is near the New Fruit Market on the By Pass Road in Dhalli. It’s an interesting spot because we are right where all the action is for the fruit trade. Dhalli is known for this market, and being at Pankaj Cottage means we are just a short walk away from where the trucks come in. The cottage itself is an older building with a lot of character. It’s not a modern office building. We have high ceilings and windows that let in the mountain air. In the winter, it gets quite chilly, so we all wear our heavy sweaters while we work. We spend our day managing the fruit orders and talking to the people who grow the apples and pears around here. The By Pass Road is always busy, so there’s a constant hum of traffic outside our door. Sometimes we have to go down to the market ourselves to check on a shipment. It’s a lot of walking on uneven ground. We have a small desk where we keep our records and a couple of phones that never seem to stop ringing. We’ve been in the fruit business for a long time, and we know most of the families who bring their produce to Dhalli. It’s a community effort, really. We just keep things moving as best as we can. It's a busy life here in Dhalli.
