I’m based up here at Secretariat Hills on Keating Road. It’s a nice part of town, usually a bit cooler because of the elevation. My setup is pretty basic. I’ve got a small office where I handle my daily tasks. It’s not part of some big corporate chain; it’s just me and a few helping hands when things get busy. Keating Road can get crowded with cars during the middle of the day, but it’s usually peaceful in the mornings. I’ve been in this area for a long time and I’ve seen a lot of things change on the hills. People around here generally know each other. I don’t spend much time on fancy decorations or making the place look like a catalog. There are books and files everywhere, and the kettle is almost always on. I spend most of my hours responding to requests or looking over documents. It’s quiet work for the most part. Sometimes I have to head out to meet people, but I prefer being at the desk. The view from the road is quite good if the weather is clear. I don’t really do much advertising. People find me through word of mouth or just by seeing the name on the door. It’s a simple way of doing things, and it suits me fine. I just try to be fair and get through the pile of work before the weekend hits.
