Nvs, Shillong

Our office is the Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti regional branch located right on Temple Road in Shillong. If you know the area, we are basically at Barik Point. Being in Shillong means we deal with a lot of rain and some pretty chilly mornings, but the view of the hills makes up for it. The building is right there on the main road, so it is easy to find but can get a bit congested with traffic at Barik Point during the rush hours. We handle things for the local region from here. The office has that old-school feel to it, with lots of files and wooden desks that have been around for years. We are not big on fancy modern gadgets if the old stuff still works. The staff here has been around for a long time, so we all know each other's habits. It is a steady and predictable environment. We follow the rules and make sure the paperwork moves from one desk to the next. Sometimes the fog rolls in so thick you can hardly see the road outside our windows. It is a unique place to work because of the location in Meghalaya. We just do our bit for the schools and the students in the region without making a big fuss about it. It is honest work in a beautiful part of the country. We keep the heaters running in the winter and just get on with our tasks.
