Home Grown is really just us making candles right here at our place. We go by Home Grown Crafth Candles too, which is basically our business name and where we are located. It started out as something small we did in our spare time, and then it just grew into a full-time thing. We don't have a massive warehouse; we mostly work with what we have in our own space. There are usually boxes of wax and jars of different scents sitting around on the tables. Making candles is a slow process because you have to wait for things to melt and then wait even longer for them to set properly. We don’t use big industrial machines; we do most of it by hand, pouring the wax and centering the wicks. Sometimes the room smells like lavender and other times it’s more like vanilla or sandalwood depending on what we are making that day. We like seeing the finished product all lined up and ready to go. Our friends and neighbors were the first ones to buy them, and now we send them out to different places. It's a bit of a juggle managing the supplies and the orders, especially when we run out of a certain jar or scent. We keep it simple and focus on making things that we’d want to have in our own rooms. It’s nice work and it keeps our hands busy every day of the week while we listen to music.
