Shri Sai Rice Industries

Hireharakuni is where we are located, specifically at 139 Main Road. Shri Sai Rice Industries has been here for a good while now. The mill runs most days of the week, starting pretty early. It is a bit noisy and there is always dust in the air, but that is just how it goes with rice. People from around here bring their grain to us, or they come to buy what we have already processed. It involves a lot of heavy lifting of bags and watching the machines to make sure they do not clog up. We just try to keep things moving along. Sometimes the power goes out or a belt snaps, and then we have to stop and fix it ourselves right then and there. It is just us and a few guys from the village working here. We are definitely not a big fancy factory. By noon, the floor is usually covered in husks. We sweep it up and just start all over again. It is basic, practical work. Most people in the area know exactly where to find us on the main road. We keep pretty regular hours, mostly. If you are walking by, you will definitely smell the grain. It is a scent you get used to after doing this for years. We do not have a big office, just a small desk in the corner for keeping the books. We focus on getting the rice cleaned and packed up right so it can be used.
