You can find us right in the Main Bazar. We are directly opposite the Ganesh Mandir. It’s a landmark everyone knows, so we don't have to give directions much. Mohammad Husain Gulam Ali is the name on the board outside. It’s an old shop, been through many seasons. The bells from the temple ring throughout the day. It’s a nice sound to work to. We sell all sorts of things that local people need. The shop is narrow but deep, packed with items from floor to ceiling. We know where everything is, even if it looks like a mess to someone else. We spend our days chatting with neighbors and serving the people who come for their daily shopping. It’s a busy street, especially during festivals. We have to keep the front clear so people can get in and out. There’s no big hierarchy here. We all do a bit of everything, from sweeping the floor to handling the cash box. We don’t use much technology. A calculator and a pen are usually enough. The wooden counters have been here since the start. They are worn smooth from all the hands that have rested on them. We don’t plan on moving or changing much. We like the way things are in the bazar. It’s a steady life and we are happy to be part of the neighborhood.
