SPS NIDHI LIMITED

Over in Mahua village, things are pretty straightforward. SPS Nidhi Limited is based at Arvind Kumar’s place in the Tola area. If you live around Mahua block, you probably know where we are. It’s not a big corporate headquarters. It’s just a simple building where we keep the records and meet with people. We started this to help the local farmers and small traders have a place to put their money where it won't just disappear. Most days, it’s just a few of us sitting around with the registers open. People drop by on their way back from the fields or after finishing their work at the market. We talk about the rain, the prices of grain, and then we get down to the business of deposits or loans. There’s no fancy dress code here; we’re usually just in our everyday clothes. Sometimes the power cuts out and we have to use flashlights to finish up the paperwork in the evening. It’s a bit rustic, but it works for us and the people who live here. We don’t have any big advertisements or marketing schemes. People know us because they know Arvind and the rest of the family. We just try to be helpful and honest with everyone. It’s about making sure the local money stays in the tula and helps the people who actually live in Mahua. We are just here doing our part for the village day by day.
