Gayatri Foods

Our place is over at Plot No 32/1 in Thumu Kunta. We have been set up in Sri Partha Sarathi Nagar for some time now. It is mostly food processing we do here. The smell of spices or whatever we are packing that day usually fills the whole street. It is a small operation. We don't have hundreds of workers or anything like that. Just a small group of us making sure everything is packed right. The floors get messy but we clean up every evening. Sometimes the machines act up and we have to fix them ourselves. Thumu Kunta is a bit out of the main city so it is quieter here than in some other industrial spots. We get our supplies from local markets mostly. The bags are heavy to move around. We do not have a big fancy sign outside, just the building. People know where we are. We drink a lot of tea while we work. My cousin handles the accounts and I look after the actual production. It gets very busy during festival seasons when everyone wants more stock. We try to keep up but sometimes we run behind. It is just how it goes in a small business. We like being in this neighborhood. The neighbors are good people and they don't mind the noise much. We have been here long enough that we know everyone on the block and they know us too.
