Our shop sits right on the Main Road by Purani Mandi Chowk. If you’re looking for the State Bank of India ATM, we’re just near that. It’s a handy landmark for people who haven't been to Agar Malwa Taluka before. The shop is exactly what the name says. We have walls and floors covered in paint tubs and bags of putty. It’s a bit of a maze inside because we try to fit as much as we can into the space. The dust from the putty bags gets everywhere, so we’re always wiping down the counter. It’s a busy intersection, so there’s a lot of honking and shouting outside. We stay busy through the middle of the day. A lot of the local builders come to us because we’re right there on the main route. We don't do much in the way of advertising. Most people just see us when they’re passing through the Chowk. We use a lot of handwritten signs to show prices or new arrivals. It’s not a polished place, but it works for us. We keep a cooler of water in the corner for anyone who’s been out in the heat. By the time evening rolls around, the traffic slows down a little, and we start counting the stock for the next day. It’s a simple, honest business in a busy part of town. We’ve seen the seasons change from this corner for years now.
