Pt. Bal Krishna Sharma Naveen Govt. P. G. College is located right on A.B. Road in Shajapur. It is a big old building that most people in this part of town know well. The name is quite a mouthful, so most folks just call it the Naveen college. Being on A.B. Road means there is a constant stream of buses and cars passing by the gates. The college has been a part of Shajapur for a long time, and you can see it in the way the walls look and the trees in the courtyard have grown so tall. We have students coming in from all the nearby villages and the town itself. It gets very loud during the breaks when everyone is out in the hallways or near the entrance. The office where we handle the paperwork is usually piled high with files and registers. It is a government place, so things move at their own pace and there is a lot of paper to deal with. We don't have fancy air conditioning in every room, just the usual ceiling fans that hum all day. The brickwork on the main building shows its age, but it feels like a place where people actually come to learn something. Shajapur is not a huge city, so the college is a major landmark. If you are driving down A.B. Road, you cannot really miss the sign for Pt. Bal Krishna Sharma Naveen.
