Government Hospital Tal Ratlam

Down in the village of Rojana, near Jaora in the Ratlam district, our hospital is a central part of the community. It’s a quiet area most of the time, except for the sounds of animals and the occasional tractor. We’re located in a spot that serves several nearby villages, so people often travel a fair distance to get here. The building is modest and fits right in with the rural surroundings. Inside, things are kept simple. We don’t have a lot of fancy decorations, just the essentials for seeing patients. The staff here mostly speaks the local dialect, which helps everyone feel a bit more comfortable. We see a lot of seasonal illnesses, especially when the weather changes. It’s not uncommon to see a family of five waiting together in the hallway. We try to keep the queues moving, but sometimes paperwork takes longer than we’d like. It’s a government facility, so there’s always a process to follow. The courtyard outside is a place where people wait under the trees when it’s too crowded inside. We know most of the people who come through the doors by name. It’s a different kind of life here compared to the big city hospitals. We deal with what we have, and we focus on the basic needs of the folks in the Ratlam area. It’s a steady job in a steady place, and we’re just glad to be here doing this work every day.
