Malhi Studio

Malhi Studio is located right in the Main Bazar. It is a busy spot where people are always walking by. We have been here for a long time, taking photos and helping people with their pictures. The studio isn't very large, but we have enough space for the camera and the lights. We spend a lot of our time editing or waiting for customers to come in from the street. Main Bazar is always noisy, which we have gotten used to over the years. We do everything from passport photos to family portraits. It is a simple business. We don't have any high-tech gadgets other than the cameras we need. The walls are covered with some of the work we have done over the years, mostly people from around here. We handle the printing and the framing ourselves in the back room. It’s often a bit of a mess back there with all the paper and ink. We don't have a big marketing plan; people just see our sign when they are out shopping. Sometimes we have to go out to take photos at events, but most of the work happens right here in the bazar. It’s a steady job and we like being part of the local community. We just keep the lights on and wait for the next person to walk in.
