Yogiraj Hastshilp Vikas Foundation

We are based in Shahjahanpur, at 200 Dilajak. Our office is at Samant Singh's place. It is a very local setup, and we have been here for quite some time now. Yogiraj Hastshilp Vikas Foundation was started to help with the development of local handicrafts. Shahjahanpur has a long tradition of people making things with their hands, and we did not want to see those skills die out. We are not a big fancy foundation with a lot of money. We are just a group of people who care about our town and its history. The office is usually filled with different crafts and tools. It can be a bit of a mess sometimes, but it shows that we are actually working. We do not have any professional marketing people. We just talk to the artisans and try to help them find ways to sell what they make. It is a struggle sometimes because things are changing so fast in the world. People do not always value handmade things like they used to. We spend a lot of time traveling around the area to meet different workers. It is tiring, but it is better than sitting in an office all day. We just want to keep these traditions alive for as long as we can. It is hard work, but it feels right to do it.
