World Sikh Foundation

We are the World Sikh Foundation, located over in Powayan. We are set up at Gurupej Singhgangsara’s place. It’s not a big corporate office or anything like that. It’s more of a community-based spot where we can get together and handle the things we need to do. Powayan is a decent place to be, and everyone knows where we are if they need to find us. We don't have a lot of fancy equipment. We mostly just use what’s available. Most of the time, it’s just a few of us sitting around a table going over documents or planning out what needs to happen next. It’s very informal. We talk a lot while we work, mostly about stuff happening in the town or what’s going on with our families. We aren't trying to impress anyone with a big building. We just want to make sure the work gets finished. Some days are busier than others, especially when there’s a local event or something specific we are helping with. We get a lot of visitors who just stop by to say hello or ask a quick question. That’s fine with us. We usually have some tea ready for whoever comes by. It’s a friendly atmosphere. We don’t have a website that we update all the time or anything like that. We just do the work and let people know what’s happening by talking to them. It works for us and keeps everyone in the loop. We keep the doors open all day long.
