This is the Rosa Thermal Power Project site office. If you are heading out toward Shahjahanpur, you can't really miss the turn for Rosa. It is a big operation here for Reliance Energy Ltd but the office part is pretty standard. We spend a lot of time dealing with the heat and the dust that comes with being near a power plant. The U.P. summers are no joke, so the fans are always running at full speed. It’s a lot of workers coming in and out in their boots. Most of the guys have been here since the start of the project. We don't have fancy furniture, just the stuff that works and can handle a bit of dirt. The tea stall outside is where most of the actual talking happens anyway. Shahjahanpur is a quiet place otherwise, but this project keeps the area moving. You see the trucks lined up early in the morning. Inside, it's mostly logs and schedules on the walls. It’s not the kind of place you’d find in a big city business district. It’s gritty and real. We deal with the day-to-day stuff to keep the lights on. Sometimes the printers jam when we need them most. We just fix them and keep going. It’s a lot of practical work. Not much for sitting around and looking professional. We just do what needs doing to keep the thermal plant side of things moving along.
