New Life Clinic

Over in Mohalla Akbarabad in Sahaswan, you will find New Life Clinic. It is tucked away in the neighborhood. It’s not on a big highway or anything like that, just a local spot. I’ve been working here for quite some time now. We get people from all over Sahaswan, but mostly it’s the Mohalla Akbarabad residents who stop in. The clinic is basically just a couple of rooms put together. We have some benches for people to sit on while they wait. It can get pretty cramped when there are more than five or six people waiting at once. The walls are a pale color and we have some old health posters taped up for people to look at. They are starting to peel at the edges now. We don't have a fancy computer system; we still write most things down in the big ledger books. It’s just how we’ve always done it here. The street outside is quite narrow, so it’s mostly foot traffic and old cycles passing by. It gets a bit noisy in the evenings when the local kids are playing outside in the alley. We just keep the windows shut and carry on with our work. It’s a humble place. We don't have any big equipment, just the essentials for a neighborhood clinic. People come here because it is close to home and they have been coming for years.
