Bankey Bihari Ice Factory

Our place, Bankey Bihari Ice Factory, is located in Ward No. 11 of Karaundi Village, within the Tilhar Tehsil of Shahjahanpur District. It is a quiet area, mostly surrounded by fields and small houses. We set up the factory here because it’s where we live and where we have the space for the big equipment. It isn't a fancy setup at all. It’s a brick building with a tin roof that gets quite loud when it rains. We spend our time managing the water supply and keeping the freezing tanks at the right temperature. Most of our work involves moving the heavy ice blocks onto the back of tractors or small trucks that come from the nearby villages. It is a lot of heavy lifting and we often have wet boots by the end of the shift. We don’t have a website or a sales team. If someone needs ice in this part of Shahjahanpur, they usually just hear about us from a neighbor and show up at the gate. We keep a ledger on a small wooden table to track the orders. It’s a basic way of doing things, but it works for us. We just try to keep the machines running and the ice coming out clear. It’s a humble business, and we’re just glad to be working in our own village instead of commuting far away.
