Balaji Traders

Balaji Traders is based in Village Malika. We are out in the Khutar area, right near the Banda Chauraha. That crossroads is a big landmark for us because that’s where all the local traffic meets. We are a trading business, so we buy and sell stuff that the local farmers and villagers need. Our shop is just a plain room with some shelves and a counter. We spend a lot of time outside talking to the people who stop by. In a village like Malika, word of mouth is the only way people find out about you. We don’t use the internet for much, maybe just to check some prices once in a while. Most of our work is done face to face. The Banda Chauraha can get quite crowded on market days, which is when we are at our busiest. We have to be quick to keep up with everyone. It gets very hot in the summer months, and we just have a small fan to keep us cool. It’s not a fancy life, but it’s what we know. My brother and I run the place together. We’ve lived here our whole lives and we know everyone who comes in. We just try to have what people are looking for and see what we can do for them. It’s just a basic village trade shop near the main crossing. We don't have a website, just the physical shop.
