Swastik Boot Factory

We are located over on Rajiv Cinema Road at number 50/75. It’s an old spot and the smell of leather is the first thing you notice when you walk inside. Swastik Boot Factory has been making boots here for a long time now. It’s a noisy place with the hammers and the machines going. There are scraps of rubber and leather all over the floor by the end of the day. We don't have a big showroom or fancy lights. It’s just benches and tools. People come by when they need something that lasts. We spend most of our time hunched over the work tables. My hands are usually stained with glue or polish. That’s just how it is when you’re working with footwear. The traffic on the road outside is always loud, especially when the movies let out at the cinema. We just keep our heads down and finish the pairs we started in the morning. Sometimes the machines break down and we have to spend half a day fixing them ourselves. It’s not glamorous work, but it’s what we do. We have racks full of finished boots waiting for someone to pick them up. It’s dusty and cramped, but we know where everything is. If you’re looking for us, we’re the ones with the pile of soles near the front door. We just keep at it, day in and day out. This street is home to us.
