Our place is at 55 Bank Street, located in the Kailash Nagar area, which is part of the larger Gandhi Nagar market. If you know Delhi, you know Gandhi Nagar is the place for clothes. It is always incredibly crowded here, and the streets are narrow. We handle apparels, so we are right in the middle of all the action. The building we are in is quite old and simple. We spend our mornings unloading bundles of cloth and our afternoons trying to get them sorted out. There is a lot of shouting and honking outside, which never really stops until late at night. We don't have a big fancy sign or a lobby. It is just a workspace where we get things done. Most of our time is spent talking to the tailors and checking the finished goods for any loose threads. It’s a very manual process. We eat our lunch together on the main table when we can find a clear spot. It gets very hot in the summer, and the fans just move the warm air around, but we are used to it by now. We don’t worry about looking corporate or professional in the traditional sense. We just focus on getting the stacks of clothes ready for the buyers. It’s a tough environment, but it’s where we’ve always been. We’ve known the other shop owners on Bank Street for years. It’s just a regular life in a busy textile market.
