Kaarigari Foundation

We’re based out of Vishwas Nagar, right on the second floor of building 26/26. It’s a bit of a climb up the stairs, especially if you’re carrying things, but it keeps us moving. Shahdara is a crowded place, and this street is no different. You can hear the rickshaws and the vendors from the window all day long. Kaarigari Foundation is just a handful of us working in a couple of rooms. The paint on the walls is starting to chip a little near the ceiling, but we don't mind it much. We have a few tables pushed together to make a bigger workspace. The lighting isn't the best in the afternoons, so we keep the balcony door open to let some air in, though it brings in the dust from the road. Working in Vishwas Nagar means you’re always in the middle of everything. We spend a lot of time just talking about what needs to happen next and making sure we haven't missed any messages. It's not a corporate office with fancy machines; we have an old printer that jams sometimes and a water cooler that makes a loud noise every hour. People around here know us as the folks on the second floor who stay late. It's a simple setup, nothing to brag about, just a place where we try to stay busy and do our part. The neighbors mostly leave us alone, which is fine by us. We just keep our heads down and do the work.
