Gandhi Nagar is a crazy place if you aren't used to it. Chaurasia Fabrics Private Limited is right in the middle of it, at X/3754 in Shanti Mohalla. Gali number 8 is where we spend most of our lives. If you know East Delhi, you know how these narrow streets get. There are rolls of fabric everywhere. Sometimes the carts blocking the lane make it hard to get through, but that is just Gandhi Nagar for you. We deal with all sorts of cloth. It is a lot of lifting and moving things around. Our office isn't big. It's mostly just storage and a small space to sit and talk to people. We don't have fancy lights or air conditioning that works all the time. It is dusty and loud, but this is where the business happens. Shanti Mohalla is famous for fabrics, so we are in the right spot. We’ve seen the seasons change from this little shop. In the summers, it's sweating over piles of cotton, and in winter, the tea man is our best friend. We don't do much marketing or anything. People just find us or they know us from years back. It’s a simple setup. We count the meters, pack the bundles, and send them off. Delhi 110031 is a busy pin code. We are just one of many, but we keep our heads down and work.
