Bhajanka Apparels Private Limited

Sunder Chowk in Gandhi Nagar is always packed. If you know this part of Delhi, you know how tight the lanes are and how many people are moving around at once. We are located at 9/3480, right in the thick of it. Bhajanka Apparels is a small setup where we mostly focus on getting the clothes ready for the market. It’s loud, it’s dusty, and it’s very alive. There are bundles of cloth everywhere you look. We don’t have much space to move around, so we have to be very organized with how we stack things. The shop next door sells buttons and zippers, and the one across the way does embroidery, so it’s a good community to be in. We drink a lot of chai throughout the day to keep going. The power goes out sometimes, and we just wait it out or use the lamps. It’s not a fancy place at all. It’s honest work. We spend our time checking the stitching and making sure the labels are put on straight. Sometimes the heat in the summer gets to be too much, but we keep the fans going. It’s a family-run kind of feel, even if we aren’t all related. We just know each other’s habits by now. Every day is different depending on what orders we have to finish for the week. It is a lot of lifting and shifting but we manage.
