Vardhaman Trading Co.

Our place, Vardhaman Trading Co., is right on Station Road in Nimbura, which is part of Raver. Being near the station means there’s always some movement, people coming off the trains or heading out to the fields. The shop is an old building with high ceilings and thick walls that stay cool even when it’s burning hot outside. We deal with a lot of different things, so the inventory changes depending on the season. There are bags stacked up in the back and a heavy wooden counter where we do all our business. We don't have a computer system that tracks everything perfectly, so we rely on our ledger books and memory most of the time. The floor is made of old stone that has been polished smooth by years of footsteps. In the afternoons, when it gets quiet, you can hear the birds in the trees outside or the distant sound of a train whistle. We spend a lot of time talking to the farmers and locals who stop by to see what we have. It’s a slow pace of life here compared to the big cities, but we prefer it that way. We just open up in the morning, sweep the front, and wait to see who comes by. It’s a practical life, and we’ve been part of this community for a long time now. We just take things as they come and do our best.
