ALSTOM India Ltd. has a site at Village- Shahabad Works in the Mundel-Chitapur area of the Gulbarga district. While the name might sound big, the people working here at this location are just locals from the surrounding areas. It is a large facility and there is always a lot going on with heavy engineering projects. The commute out to the village can be a bit long for some of us, but we have gotten used to it over the years. It is a very industrial atmosphere with a lot of heavy lifting and big equipment moving around. We don't really do the corporate office thing here at the worksite. We are mostly in our boots and safety gear all day. The weather in Gulbarga can be quite harsh, especially the heat, but the sheds provide some shade while we work. We handle large-scale engineering tasks that require a lot of focus and patience. It is not the kind of work you can rush. We just take it one step at a time and make sure things are done the right way. There is a lot of pride in the stuff we build here, even if we do not talk about it in a flashy way. We are just a group of workers doing heavy industry in a quiet part of the country.
