Midas Fashion

Down here in Probasnagar within the Hooghly district, Midas Fashion is where we spend our time. It’s a local setup, nothing like those big city offices you see in magazines. We focus on the clothes and making sure everything looks right before it leaves the building. The Hooghly area has its own pace, and we definitely follow that. Some mornings start early when the deliveries arrive, and we have to move quickly to get everything stored. We deal with a lot of different styles, and sometimes the floor gets covered in scraps and thread. That’s just part of the business. We have a few locals working here, mostly people who have lived in Probasnagar their whole lives. It’s nice because everyone knows each other. We don’t really use fancy jargon to describe what we do. We just make clothes. The building we are in is sturdy and keeps the rain out, which is what matters during the monsoon season. We have some old desks and plenty of shelving to keep the finished pieces. It’s a practical space. We don’t have a big reception area or anything. If someone knocks, one of us just goes to the door and sees what they need. It’s a straightforward way to live and work, and it suits us fine out here in the district. It’s a simple life for us, really, just making sure the daily tasks are done and the shutters are closed.
