Navdeep Flour

Navdeep Flour is situated in Singhara, very close to the Hindustan Copper Ltd. site. Because of the big copper plant nearby, there is always some activity in the area. We run a flour mill, so you can usually hear the machines humming from the street. It is a dusty job, as you can imagine. Everything gets covered in a thin layer of white powder by the end of the shift. We process different kinds of grains depending on what the local farmers bring in or what customers are asking for. The smell of fresh flour is actually quite nice once you get used to it. The building is old but sturdy enough for the heavy grinders we use. I spend most of my time checking the grain quality and making sure the bags are weighed correctly. It is physical work, lifting and moving heavy sacks all day long. We don't have a fancy storefront, just the mill where the work happens. People from Singhara and the surrounding villages know us well. They come by with their own grain or just buy what we have ready in the back. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to wait around, which is a bit of a pain, but that is life here. We just try to keep the machines running and the customers coming back for their daily needs. It is hard work, but someone has to do it.
