Pleasant Days

Our place, Pleasant Days, is situated on the Chennai-Bangalore Trunk Road in Palanjur. It’s a bit of a drive from the main city, which makes it a different kind of job for us. We have a lot of open space to manage, and we spend most of our mornings checking on the grounds and making sure the paths are clear. Because we’re on the highway, we get a lot of people stopping by who are traveling between the two cities. We handle a lot of events and gatherings, so we’re often moving chairs and tables around the property. It’s a lot of physical work, especially when the sun is out and it’s hot on the trunk road. We don’t have fancy uniforms; we just wear what’s practical for working outdoors and in the halls. The building needs constant attention because of the dust from the road and the weather. We stay busy with the maintenance of the rooms and the common areas. It’s a large property, so we’re usually walking several miles a day just getting from one side to the other. We don’t really have a polished front desk experience; it’s more about just greeting people and showing them where they need to go. We’ve been out here in Palanjur for a while now, and we’re just used to the rhythm of the highway traffic and the weekend crowds.
