Out here on Bhopal Road in Sehore, things are pretty steady. We’ve got the clinic set up right where people can see it when they're driving into town. It’s a good spot because it’s easy to pull over. I usually get here around eight in the morning and open up the shutters. The dust from the road is a bit of a constant battle, so there is a lot of sweeping involved every single day. We aren't a big fancy operation with a lot of staff. Usually, it’s just one or two of us keeping things going. People in Sehore are straightforward, and we like to be the same way with them. No point in making things complicated when someone just wants to get in and out. The chairs are lined up against the wall, and there’s always a stack of old newspapers for people to look at while they wait their turn. Sometimes the tea stall down the road brings over a cup in the afternoon, which is the best part of the day. It’s a simple setup we have here. We don't have those fancy digital screens or anything, just a desk and some basic equipment. It feels like home after you’ve spent so many hours in the same four walls. Most people who come in are regulars from the nearby streets. We know most of them by name by now, which makes the work feel a lot less like work.
