Shiv Shakti Mineral

Shiv Shakti Mineral operates out of Village Bher Bhundel. Our place is really easy to spot because it is right near the Bher Bhundel School. You can often hear the kids playing or the bell ringing while we are working with the minerals. It’s a dusty kind of job, as you can imagine. We spend most of the daylight hours moving stuff around and making sure the bags are ready for transport. The village life is slow, but the work here at the mineral site is usually steady. We have a few local guys who help with the heavy lifting and loading the trucks. The post office is also nearby, so we see the postman almost every day. Sometimes the trucks have a hard time navigating the narrow village roads, especially after a heavy downpour. We have to be careful with the storage so the minerals don't get damp. It is not a quiet business. There is always the sound of shovels and the humming of the engines. We don't have a big corporate office; it’s just a small room where we keep the ledgers and a couple of chairs. Most of our day is spent outside anyway. We’ve become a part of the landscape here over the years. Everyone in the village knows who we are and what we do. We just keep our heads down and get the work done before the sun goes down.
