Krishna Kirana General Store

Our store is right in the middle of Village Ichawar, not too far from the Bavaria Road. Krishna Kirana General Store is a small place, the kind of shop where everyone knows everyone else’s name. We don't have fancy barcodes or those big sliding glass doors like the supermarkets in the city. Instead, we have wooden shelves that we built ourselves and jars filled with all sorts of things. The floor is just swept concrete, and we keep a bench outside for people who want to sit and talk for a bit. It’s more than just a place to buy soap or lentils. It’s where the neighbors stop by to share news or complain about the weather. We open up early in the morning when the village is still quiet and stay open until late in the evening when the sun has gone down. Sometimes we run out of things and have to tell people to come back tomorrow when the delivery truck arrives. It’s a simple life. We don't have any big goals of becoming a chain. We just want to make sure the families around here can get what they need for their dinner. The dust from the road blows in sometimes, so we spend a lot of time wiping down the counters. It’s a bit of a struggle keeping everything tidy, but it's our shop and we are proud to be here in Ichawar serving our people.
