We are based in unit 103 of Sashirekha Apartments. It’s a bit of a different setup having an equipment business inside an apartment building, but it works for us. The space gets a little tight sometimes with all the files and the small pieces of equipment we keep on hand. Every now and then, the neighbors wonder what we are doing with all the boxes moving in and out of the hallway. We spend a lot of our time on our laptops or talking to suppliers on the phone. It’s quiet enough in the building for us to focus on the work. We’ve had this spot for many years now. It’s got a bit of a lived-in feel, definitely not like those cold glass buildings you see downtown. We keep the kettle going for coffee and tea throughout the day. Most of our time is spent tracking shipments or checking the specs on the machines we deal with. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s what we know how to do. Sometimes the lift in the building is slow or out of order, so we end up taking the stairs. It keeps us moving, I guess. We aren't trying to impress anyone with a big showroom or a fancy reception desk. We just do the work from here and send everything out where it needs to go. It’s a small team, just a couple of us usually. We know each other well and don't feel the need for many rules or meetings. It’s just work.
