Sanskriti Sarees

You can find Sanskriti Sarees at 3-4-322 in the Tobacco Bazar area. If you’ve ever been to this part of Hyderabad, you know it’s a maze of shops and stalls. We’ve been at this address for a good while now. The shop itself is just a standard room with shelves reaching up to the ceiling. We have to use a small wooden ladder to get to the things at the top. It’s not a modern showroom with glass windows and air conditioning. It’s more of a place where you sit on the floor or a small stool while looking at the fabric. The lighting is okay, but it’s mostly just basic bulbs we bought from the hardware store down the street. Tobacco Bazar is a busy place, so there’s always the sound of horns and people shouting outside our door. Sometimes the rain leaks in a little near the entrance, so we have to put a bucket there, but we manage. We don’t have a website or a fancy logo. We just have our name on a board outside. We keep our records in a big ledger book by hand. It’s a simple way of doing things, but it works for us. Most of our day is spent talking to people who live nearby or travelers who ended up in the bazaar by mistake. It’s a living, and we’re okay with that.
