Neha Boutique

Down at No. 33-108 in R. K. Puram, you will find Neha Boutique. It is a small space filled with different types of cloth and thread. We started this because we liked working with fabrics, and it just grew into a daily job. My table is usually a mess of measuring tapes, chalk pieces, and bits of silk or cotton. People come in with an idea or a photo on their phone and ask if we can make something similar. We do a lot of blouses and suits, and there is always someone coming in for a quick stitch or an alteration because their pants are too long. It is a neighborhood shop, so we know most of the ladies who stop by. We don't have a big showroom with mannequins in the window, just a few racks and a couple of sewing machines going all day long. The sound of the needles is pretty much the background music of our lives here. Sometimes we run out of a specific color of thread and have to go hunting for it, which can be a pain. But mostly, it is just about getting the fit right so people are happy when they try their clothes on. R. K. Puram is a busy area, and we fit right in with the other small shops. We just focus on the stitching and making sure the hooks and buttons are on tight before anything leaves the door.
