Narayani Sarees

Our place, Narayani Sarees, is over at Door no 1-3-2 on Somasundaram Street. It’s right off S D Road in the Kalasiguda-Secunderabad area. This part of Hyderabad is always moving. S D Road is one of those places where the traffic never seems to stop, even late at night. Our shop is tucked away a bit on Somasundaram Street, which is slightly quieter but still busy with people walking to and from the main road. The building we are in is quite old, and the stairs are a bit steep if you’re coming from the street. We have heaps of sarees everywhere. It’s not the most organized place in the world, to be honest. We know where everything is, even if it looks like a mess to someone else. We spend a lot of time dusting the shelves because the street outside kicks up a lot of dirt. There’s a small tea shop across from us, and we usually get our morning coffee from there. We don’t have a big team, just a couple of us who have been doing this for years. We don’t bother with fancy bags or high-end decor. We just have some chairs and a long table where we can spread out the cloth. It’s a practical setup for the kind of work we do every day. We just stay here until the shops around us start closing up at night.
