We've been at 39-1 North Parade Road for a good while now. It's right next to the Jothi Theatre in St. Thomas Mount, so most folks find us pretty easily if they know the landmark. The engineering shop is usually busy with whatever job comes in that day. It gets noisy with the machines running, but that's just how the work goes. We handle a lot of metal work and repairs here. Someone is usually around from morning until evening. It’s not a fancy office, just a practical space where we get things done. My father started things off and we've just kept it going. We don't spend much time on the computer or making things look pretty for the internet. If you walk past the theater, you'll see the sign. Sometimes the traffic on the road gets a bit much, especially in the afternoons. Inside, there's always a bit of grease and dust on the floor, but we know where everything is kept. We just try to finish the work on time so the customers can get back to their own business without any delay. It's a straightforward setup. We don't have a big team, just a few of us who know the equipment well. If a machine breaks down or someone needs a part made, they usually come by and we talk it over right there on the shop floor. It's just a regular local engineering place doing what we can for the community.
