AVINASH AGENCIES is located in shops 27 and 28 in the Kabra complex. We are right on MG Road. It’s a busy place with lots of people walking by and cars honking all day long. We sell a bit of everything for the home and local tradesmen who work in the area. The shops are side by side, which gives us a bit more room for storage than some of the other units here. It’s a bit cramped inside because we try to keep a lot of stock on hand. You’ll see boxes stacked up to the ceiling in the back and near the counter. Usually, there’s three of us working here. My cousin helps out most afternoons when it gets busy. We start the day by sweeping the front and getting the displays ready. It’s not a shiny new mall store. The floors have some scuffs and the lighting is a bit dim in the corners. But we know where everything is. People come in looking for specific parts or just to ask advice on a project they are doing. We talk to the neighbors a lot. The chai wala next door brings us tea twice a day and we catch up on the news. MG Road is always loud, so we have to speak up sometimes. We don't have a website or anything like that. We just answer the phone and talk to whoever walks through the door. It’s how it’s always been.
