Anjali General Store

Running Anjali General Store in Dilsukh Nagar is always interesting because we are right beside the Mega Theater. You can hear the crowds and the music from the movies sometimes when the doors open. Shop No 4 is where I spend nearly twelve hours every single day. It is a very busy part of Hyderabad, so there is always noise and people rushing around. I sell all kinds of small things that people might need suddenly. It is mostly general items, biscuits, pens, batteries, and things like that. Since we are near the cinema, we get a lot of people just passing through who want a cold drink or some gum. I started this place because I wanted to work for myself and this spot was available. The shelves are a bit old now and I have been meaning to paint the walls, but there never seems to be a good time to close up. My morning starts with checking what sold out yesterday. I have to call the distributors and wait for them to show up in the narrow lane. It gets quite hot in the summer, but the shop stays relatively cool because of the shade from the taller buildings around us. I don't really do much advertising or anything. People just see the sign and walk in. It is a simple life and it keeps me busy enough to not worry about much else.
