Udgam Architects

Our space is in Anish Apartment, unit 287/5, right across from Aradhana School in Gandhinagar. It’s quite a lively spot, especially when the school starts or ends and the street gets full of parents and kids. We’ve gotten used to the sound of the school bell. The office itself is just an apartment that we turned into a workspace. It feels more like a home than a corporate office, which suits us just fine. We have our drafting tables set up near the windows for the light. Gujarat summers are tough, so the AC is usually running full blast while we work on our designs. We spend a lot of time looking at site maps and trying to figure out the best way to use a particular piece of land. Being in Gandhinagar, we have a lot of space compared to the bigger cities, but we still have to be careful with our plans. There’s no big marketing team here, just a few of us who like drawing and figuring out how things fit together. We often have rolls of paper leaning against the walls and boxes of floor tiles sitting in the hallway. It’s a bit cluttered, but we know where everything is. We just come in, do the work, and try to make sure everything is ready for the site visits the next morning. It’s a honest, busy way to spend the day.
