The Sawai Madhopur Lodge

We’ve been here on Ranthambhore Road for quite a few years now. Most people find us because they’re heading out to the park to see the tigers or they just need a place to stay that isn't one of those massive, expensive resorts. We aren't fancy, and we don't try to be. The lodge is a bit older, so you might see a crack in the plaster or a squeaky door here and there, but we keep everything clean and tidy. The staff are mostly local folks from around the area who have been with us for a long time. We don't have a big corporate office; it’s just us here on the ground. The garden is our favorite part, though it’s a struggle to keep it green when the sun is really beating down in the summer. We serve the kind of food we like to eat—nothing too complicated, just honest meals that fill you up. Sometimes the road outside gets noisy with all the jeeps going by, but once you’re inside, it’s usually pretty calm. We like meeting travelers from all over the world and hearing their stories about what they saw in the woods. It’s a simple life here. We don't offer much more than a decent room and a quiet place to sit, but we do our best to make it a comfortable stay for everyone who stops by. It's just a regular lodge for regular people.
